1980 John Deere Snowmobile Electric Start opt Sweettttt Vehicle Description First, I want to say sorry for having ebay remove my original listing for this sled. It was removed because it wasn't where they wanted it to be, even though I put it where their "catagory" listing shows where it was supposed to go. I am selling a 1980 John Deere Liquifire snowmobile. Runs good, the body and tunnel in great shape, the seat has no rips, track in excellant shape and the hood is in very good shape for its age, remember it is 29 years old. The Liquifire has a 440 liquid cooled engine, electronic CDI ignition, twin 36 mm Mikuni carbs, has aworking temp gauge and is oil injected. No more premix fuel on this sled. This Liquifire is set up for adding the rare option of electric start for those who just want to turn a key instaed of pulling over a sled. Only thing needed for a usable e-start is to add a starter, battery box and a couple wires. I can supply those items for a small nominal fee if desired. As for pulling over this sled over, it starts up easy, even with old gas in it. The carbs were recently cleaned, but with some old gas still in the tank, it might take a couple extra pulls for starting until a tank of fresh gas is run through it. I just have too many other sleds and projects to work on this sled. This sled would make a great gift (Christams is coming up....hint...hint) for a young teenage looking for a first time snowmobile, with the added history of being a liquid cooled John Deere to boot!!! The 1980 Liquifire was the top handling sled of the early 80's, out performing the Sk iDoo, Polaris, Artic Cat, Yamaha and Kawis of the day. And by having a twin cooling system of both bulkhead and radiator, the 440 cc powerhouse keeps cool, under even warm days. The lucky winner can pay cash at time of pick-up. I can deliever for the price of gas both ways, plus $50 for my time, to any direction 120 miles from the sled location at zip 06084. Any questions or if more pics are desired, please ask. My reason for selling the sled is that my collection has grown too large and figured it was time to sell off a few.
