1982 Honda 200 ATC== JACKASS TRIKE!!!! *WOW*one-of-a-ki
Vehicle Description
Up for sale is a 1982 Honda 200 ATC. This three wheeler has been completely disassembled, cleaned, painted and restored. It is not 100% mint but will make a dependable ATV for a hunter, ice fisherman or trail rider. I will describe what I've done to it as honestly as I can. OK here it goes.
THE GOOD
1. The motor has been rebuilt- new OEM parts: rings, camshaft, camshaft bearing, rocker arms and valves and valve seals. It was professionally timed and assembled according to Honda specs with Honda oil. It runs smoothly, starts right up, idles perfect, and DOES NOT SMOKE!!!
2. All the wheels have new OEM bearings and lube. They turn very smoothly, and do not rattle around.
3. The original fixed foot pegs have been replaced with ones off a 1985 200s. They have springs that move in case you hit a tree or stump, the original ones do not move, so if you do hit something you would flip over or crash. I have the originals and they will be included with the bike.
4. The frame and fenders have been carefully cleaned and repainted black and the gas tank has 7" Jackass decals on it. The plastic gas tank is not original to this bike, it's off a 185 but is larger and holds more gas, and will not rust as the original ones do. The inside of the tank is perfect and free of dirt or rust.
5. The tires are in very good condition; the rears are huge and have tons of tread on them. The front is also oversize, which is why the front forks have extensions on them.
6. The seat is in very good condition, no tears, cracks or rips.
7. Both front and rear brakes work great. The only thing that I have not finished is the rear brake cable, which is extremely easy to order and install. I haven’t done this yet because I'm moving and don’t have the time. Mfgsupply.com has this part and it costs about $14.99.
8. Both front and back lights work fine.
9. The muffler has a spark arrestor intact which is required to ride on WI state trails.
10. The chain is new and is perfectly adjusted.
11. The carburetor has been rebuilt with OEM Honda floats, jets, and gaskets.
12. It is a Honda and it's very easy to get parts for this model. Pretty much any 200s, m, es, big red or x model parts will work in the unlikely event you need a part. This bike is 27 years old, and after this rebuild it should last 30 more years easy.
THE BAD
1. The left rear fender is trashed. It's broken into about 6 parts and zip tied together. However, it is functional and stays on the bike when at top speed. I was going to use it for ice fishing, so to me it's not that big of a deal. If you’ve taken the time to read this far you will know how expensive the plastic parts are for these machines. I've seen a couple on eBay, but the sellers want ridiculous amounts of money for them. Maybe you have this part or want to take your chances finding one for less than $70. It's up to you. (The right fender and the front fender and mud flaps are in great shape.)
2. As I've said above, the rear brake cable is missing, however the foot brake for the rear works great, - which is rare. I've owned a couple of Honda ATC's and none of them had working rear foot brakes.
3. The headlight frame housing is slightly bent, but the light works fine. This bike appears to have been crashed, which is quite normal for a 3-wheeler. It doesn’t seem to have been seriously wrecked, because the frame and forks are very straight. I haven’t owned this machine for very long, so I don’t really know a lot about its history. The guy I bought it off had it sitting for a long time and didn’t seem to ride it much. He told me it was always stored indoors, and when I got it, it had very little rust.
4. Finally, the last con is that it doesn’t have a title, but I will write you a bill of sale that you can have notarized to get a title. Wisconsin requires this to get a trail sticker. I will say that I ride trails in WI a lot usually 100 miles at a time, and I would feel very confident taking this bike out all day. I have 60+ hours into restoring this bike getting it ready for winter to use on the ice, where it definitely needs to start and operate perfectly every time. I would not put this up for sale if I wouldn’t go out there on it myself.
Well, that’s about it, so if you want to see it in person or have any questions, or want me to email you specific pictures of anything, feel free to let me know. I have a big yard that you can test ride it on. I'm willing to let it go for $600 O.B.O. I have over $250 in new OEM parts on it, and 60+ hours painting and restoring it. I would prefer cash upon pickup, but I have a trailer if you need if delivered to your place. I could do this for gas money if it’s close to Antioch, IL 60002. Thanks for taking the time to read my listing, Mike.
