this is a 1983 yamaha vmax 540. i purchased it as you see it and it has been sitting in my garage getting dirty. this is one of the best sleds yamaha ever built. the sled has been modified with a 136" track. the track is a 679-9781 camoplast track. (over $800 just for the track) the work for the long track was very well done. the sled has 4800 miles on it. it is a water cooled sled. the sled has also been modified with larger flat slide carbs. this is a fast and fun sled. if you are considering bidding, read up on them first. www.vintagevmax.com. i am not sure what the carbs are from.it is missing the throttle for some reason. the sled has heated grips. everything works, it runs very well. it has a comet clutch. it is not the prettiest sled in town, i believe it was hit with spray paint. mechanically the sled is great. i hate to sell it, but i have three other sleds. there are a few cracks in the hood. i can help with delivery if we agree on a price before the end of the auction.
