Chaparral 6 wheeler ATV - amphibious - t-20 Trans
Vehicle Description
Up for sale is my Chaparral six wheeler. This is a great hunting or ice fishing buggy. It seat 2 adults in the front and has a little bench seat in the back for three kids. I have had me plus 5 kids in it. It is about a 1972 but I am not sure of the exact year. I bought it off of ebay a few years ago. When I bought it, it was not in running condition. It is now in good running condition. It has the T-20 skid steer transmission (with reverse) and a 398 cc twin two stroke. It could be used as is or with some body work it could be made to look real nice. It has nearly new Goodyear Rawhide tires. The electric start works great, also has pull start. It has a manual cable choke, and foot pedal gas. The charging system (good amp meter) and lights also work. It could probably use a new belt. It also needs a drain plug if you want to use it in the water. I have used it about 10-15 hours since replacing the chain and bearings.
When I got it home I took it completely apart and replaced all the chain and all 12 axle bearings. The frame was in good shape, but I painted it with grey rustoleum paint for protection. The sprockets were in good shape so I didn't replace them. I was going rebuild the T-20 transmission but after inspecting through the two top plugs the drums had no grooves and didn't even look worn, so i decided to use as is. The engine runs good but sometimes dies out when idling. Not a problem with electric start and remote manual choke. Also put new fuel hose on. I fixed a few holes/ cracks in the lower tub to make it water tight. I started fixing the top part of the body, but just ran our out energy. I have too much stuff and need to get rid of it. It had some pretty good cracks on the front that I plastic welded (hot air with plastic filler rod. The back has some pretty good sized pieces missing so I pop riveted aluminum in place to hold everything together. Please see the pictures. The next step would be to do some bondo work. It looks like it has had some work done before. The bottom is painted black and the top multicolored.
This is a used vehicle and is sold as is with no warranty. Please ask all questions before bidding. The sale is final. You will be responsible for shipping. I may be able to delver or meet you somewhere for a fee. Email me your suggestions before bidding.
